  1. London on Marathon day truly shows why it’s one of the greatest cities in the world.

The population come out on mass to support people from around the world who are putting everything into accomplish their best whilst raising huge amounts of money for others.

    Well done London well done

  2. I love and defend Londoners. A misunderstood breed with way more heart than they get credit for.

  3. Nice one London, it was a beautiful day all round ❤️

  4. Imagine he grabbed that medal and took a bite… “It’s chocolate everyone!!!!”

  5. Well done for doing something thousands of other people did the same day……

  6. This is great, I moved to Manchester from London 6 months ago, this has made me feel more homesick than I have so far.

  7. The greatest day of the year. If I don’t run, I cheer. There’s nothing like shouting words of encouragement to random strangers and getting a brief smile in response.

I personally love choosing people with hard to pronounce names. I find I get the best proportion of shouts to smiles.

  8. Today made me fall in love with my city all over again.

That high five was so cute !

  9. I thought they was cheering the bloke walking down at first 🤣

  10. I wish I could use my Marathon Day Makes London the Best City in the World trophy to pay rent in the best city in the world.

  11. Did something spark this off? There are always quite a few people walking around with medals on marathon day and I don’t think I’ve ever seen this.

  12. I’ve been here visiting for a week, and today was a highlight. Such a great vibe. LOTS of clearly random exchanges of congratulations to the runners. It has its troubles like every city, but London is a truly excellent city.

  13. Is everybody cheering because the entire escalator population is standing on the correct side, allowing walkers to walk?

This truly is miraculous!! (stating as a New Yorker)

  14. I heard someone say on the radio “it’s like going to a football match where everyone is supporting both teams” and thought, it’s EXACTLY like that!

  15. I was in a pub with a huge beer garden this afternoon (like, hundreds of people) and every time someone walked in with a medal they got this reception from the whole garden packed full of people. Just the best vibe – so supportive. Made some of the runners quite emotional!!

  16. I’ve run all the world majors except Boston and today I ran London and it was amazing. Your people are the best. I was dead to rights the last three miles and tried to walk but the crowds are relentlessly cheering and I honestly felt like I couldn’t let them see me walk with all the effort they put in so I continued on. Top marks for Londons people and the race!

  17. Alright there’s your positivity for the day. Train delays, stabbings and the usual to return in a few hours, as you were

  18. well this is stunning. wish we could bring this level of community into everything we do

  19. I saw this all over London today, the people out cheering everyone on for hours were just as loud at the end as when the race started. Loved seeing everyone running to their next cheering spot with signs for their family and friends.
