NATO members finally ante up
Editor: When you play poker, you have to ante up to play in the game. In NATO, the joiners made a defense pact to defend each of the members if any were invaded. In 2014, they agreed to spend at least 2% of their national GDP (gross domestic product) on defense. Many of them have subsequently failed to meet this, too small, standard. President Trump, using levers of power, told them to ante up and they became highly offended. How dare you, to ask me to pay what I rightly owe. Now, European NATO spokesmen are saying they should ante up. It’s about time. Let’s see if anyone still wants to stay in the game.
