Okay, let’s have a fun thought experiment. You’re a Russian soldier, this is the 7th assault on the same position from the same direction. When the wind blows you can smell your buddies. Now, imagine it’s 1:00 in the morning you have this aluminum thermal emergency blanket that your command has told you is like an invisibility cloak. It’s Pitch Black and you don’t have any nvgs and even if you did those batteries have long been used up. You can’t necessarily see your buddies but you see and you hear the explosions. What do you think goes through your mind those last few seconds when you’re underneath that blanket but you hear that mosquito Buzz?
I counted 14 individual strikes altogether in the 72 seconds of this video – not including the overhead views that were almost certainly an alternate view of the strikes.
