  21. Isn’t that message to common people of Russia to take action. I see this more of a message to his people at home and abroad. Also isn’t this a Declaration of War from the Russian leader. If the US said this about Russia I can’t imagine they would sit and take it.

They’ve been Prestonpans nuclear armageddon for every country that pesticides military support to Ukraine for years, while they still have the same maximalist demands to end the war: allow them to keep all territory they’ve captured (and usually the bits of the four Oblasts they haven’t), international recognition that those are now Russian and will be forever more, significantly deplete Ukraine’s military capabilities (and disallow it from joining any international military alliance thar doesn’t include Russia), remove Zelensky from office, repeal all legislation perceived to be “anti-Russian”, repeal all Sanctions on Russia, unfreeze all Russian assets, deploy military assets to protect Russia from Ukraine / NATO.

    Essentially, they’re still unwilling to contemplate any outcome other than total victory, with the only concession they’re willing to make being to allow part of Ukraine to still exist (albeit with conditions that force it to become a Russian puppet).

    Attacking the UK either means going nuclear, which, as has been stated before, he could do but he seems to forget that nukes aren’t an “I win” button and while he could certainly destroy the UK, Britain and France would retaliate and it would – at the very least – result in the destruction of major Russian population centers, assuming it didn’t just escalate to global thermonuclear war and wipe out everything.

    Alternatively you’re looking at a conventional attack. Again, this isn’t an RTS with the cheat codes turned on; armies don’t move instantly and even Nazi Germany knew crossing the channel was risky business – imagine trying to move a fleet of invasion vessels across the North Sea without anyone noticing.

    I know this is propaganda being spoonfed to the Soviets but even someone with half a brain should be able to tell that Putin is effectively backing himself into a corner.
