Trump’s ominous warning at Michigan rally: ‘Nothing will stop me’

Donald Trump warned that “nothing will stop me” as he reveled in his use of executive power to shape government and attacked “communist radical left judges” at his 100-day Michigan rally.

Trump set his sights on the courts and judges who have blocked many of his moves and infringed on his presidential powers during the first 100 days of his second term.

“It’s not a good thing, but I hope for the sake of our country that the Supreme Court is going to save this, because we have to do something,” he said.

“These people are just looking to destroy our country. Nothing will stop me in the mission to keep America safe again.”

Trump reveals who he’d like to be next pope: himself

Good morning, welcome to Wednesday’s Donald Trump live blog.

With the conclave set to start next week to elect a new pope, Donald Trump has staked his claim for the papacy.

The president was asked by a Fox News reporter at the White House on Tuesday if he had anyone in mind as the next pontiff.

“As pope? I’d like to be pope,” he teased with a wry smile. “That would be my number one choice.”

He added: “I have no preference. I must say, we have a cardinal that happens to be out of a place called New York, who’s very good, so we’ll see what happens.”

While Trump appeared to be joking, South Carolina Senator Lindsay Graham tweeted that Trump would make a great “dark horse candidate.”

“I would ask the papal conclave and Catholic faithful to keep an open mind about this possibility!,” he added.

Stephen A Smith claims Trump’s poor approval rating actually hurts Dems

A recent Washington Post-ABC News-Ipsos poll captured that more than half of Americans — 55 percent — disapprove of Trump’s policies while just 39 percent approve. But the survey offered little relief for Democrats; 7 in 10 Americans said the party was “out of touch” compared to 6 in 10 who said the same about Trump.

Kelly Rissman looks at the numbers.

Trump purges Holocaust Memorial Museum board – including Doug Emhoff

Former second gentleman Doug Emhoff has been removed by the Trump administration from the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Council, he announced in a statement Tuesday.

The museum welcomed Emhoff, who is Jewish, and 11 other President Joe Biden appointees just months ago in January. They were all supposed to serve five-year terms.

“Let me be clear: Holocaust remembrance and education should never be politicized,” Emhoff, the husband of former Vice President Kamala Harris, wrote in a statement announcing his removal.

Michelle Del Rey reports.

As the tense ABC interview with the president reached its conclusion, Terry Moran asked Donald Trump what he would say to people who think he is seizing too much power and becoming an authoritarian president like we haven’t had before.
