Slovenia’s annual consumer price inflation rate came in at 2.3% in April, according to data released from the statistical office of Slovenia on Wednesday, up from 2.0% in March.
In April, consumer prices were on average 1.3% higher than the month before.
A 5.9% annual rise in prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages was the main contributor to the annual inflation rate, the statistics office said.
Prices were also up by 4.4% in the hospitality sector, with clothing and footwear 4.2% more expensive than the year before, it added.
Over the course of the year, service prices rose by an average of 3.2%, while goods prices increased by 1.8%. Prices for semi-durable goods saw a 3.9% rise, non-durable goods went up by 1.9%, and durable goods became 0.3% less expensive.
In April last year, the inflation rate stood at 3.0%.
