The British press is reporting that the UK will host French President Macron for an official visit in the next few weeks. We don’t know when the visit will be or if they’ll be a state dinner (or if the Princess of Wales will be there).

But I thought it was a chance to have some frivolous tiara talk, share your favorite Kate tiara moments, and guess what she might wear next.

My guess is her trusty Lover’s Knot, but I would love to see her debut something new!

Photo 1: Her most worn tiara, the Lover’s Knot tiara. She’s worn it at least eight times so it’s definitely her favorite. The tiara was made for Queen Mary in 1913 and was eventually given to Princess Diana.

Photo 2: Her wedding tiara, the Cartier Halo, which she has only worn once. It was bought King George VI (Elizabeth’s dad) for his wife and was given to Queen Elizabeth for her 18th birthday. Princess Margaret and Princess Anne have both also worn it to official events.

Photo 3: The Lotus Flower tiara, which I think she’s worn three times (I think). It was originally made for the Queen Mother as a necklace and assembled into a tiara for Princess Margaret.

Photo 4: The Strathmore Rose, my personal favorite because it was unexpected (it hadn’t been seen out of the vault in a 100 years). It was also a gift for the Queen Mother from her husband in 1923, and nobody else has ever publicly worn it but the QM and Kate.

    I’d love to see her wear one of the seldom seen tiaras. Like Queen Mary’s Sapphire bandeau. Or I’d like to believe that the turquoise Triumph of Love tiara has returned to the royal collection and see Kate try that one out.

  2. Mh…I don’t like how she wears the Strathmore Tiara. It’s a beautiful Tiara, but it looks too small for her. And the QM used to wear it like a headband, which looked quite fashionable to that point of time.

  3. I’ve always thought Queen Mary’s Sunray Bandeau would look great on her, if it’s still in the royal collection (I don’t think it’s been seen since Princess Margaret).

  4. i know nothing about tiaras BUT it would be cool to see one featuring some emeralds or a gold one. just something extremely unique.

    that being said, i love the strathmore rose one

  5. She’ll probably (and sadly) only wear the LK until William becomes king.
    That may be because she’s not interested in trying new tiaras out. She knows what works and it’s already readied for her head etc.
    The other reason might be that Charles and/or Camilla are reluctant to give her greater access to the vault beyond whatever she already uses.
    Who knows.

  8. Here for the frivolous tiara talk. I’m a Strathmore Rose stan and was so excited to see it out of the vault! I’d love to see it again. She’s never work a kokoshnik, right? That’d be fun too. The Girls of Great Britain and Ireland was always one of my favs, though it looks like Camilla wore it recently and has first dibs.

  10. I’m excited to see her wear the Diamond Diadem one day! Probably won’t until she is queen, but she’ll be beautiful

  11. She could also switch the jewels in the LK, right? I think there’s other drop-down jewels that can go in there that said, I’m sick of that one, I think she should wear one of the smaller ones like a headband incorporated into a updo.

  14. The Delhi Durbar tiara is huge but I would like to see a return to the bigger tiaras rather than the daintier ones. The Delhi Durbar tiara suits Camilla due to her signature big hairstyle but I wonder how it would look on Kate. It would probably suit Meghan more but it’s not her style.

  15. I’ve not been a big fan of Kate’s tiaras to date. I dont like pearls or flowery designs. I like fringe tiaras and the more Art Deco type ones like the various bandeaus. So I’m hoping for one of those. Eugenie and Beatrice’s wedding tiaras are more my speed.

  16. The Lover’s Knot, I think, it does look amazing on her. The pearls look fabulous in her thick hair, and it looks so damn regal.

  19. I think the 2nd and 4th are cute, but the 2nd might just be cute with the veil. I think she might wear another tiara originally associated with the Queen Mother.

  23. I would love to see her in The Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, but it looks like Camilla has reshaped it to fit a wider spread for her own head, and is probably one of those set aside for the Queen only.

  24. Probably the “Lover’s knot” again.

    But I would love her next tiara to be the “Queen Mary’s fringe tiara”. That would be a proper tiara for a Princess of Wales to wear, since Queen Camilla has the similar yet bigger “Kokoshnik tiara”.

  25. I would love to see tiaras that haven’t been seen in a looong time:

    Queen Mother’s Cartier Bracelet Bandeau.

    Queen Mary’s Diamond Lozenge Tiara.

    The Teck Crescent Tiara

    (praying that the last two haven’t been dismantled. the bracelets of the bandeaus are often worn as bracelets)
