What is the definition of “closely followed”?
Interesting that the stereotype is that her fans are white women but it was more closely followed by Asian woman and Hispanic woman
The dichotomy between gender interest is fascinating to me. I don’t listen to or follow Swift, but good music is good music regardless of whether you’re M or F or anything in between. Is it a sense of empowerment that she brings? Something else?
Looking at the rate of these results, I’m guessing the reason my demographic of 40-44 men isn’t shown here is because that number is zero.
Why is this data always racially segregated? Why not income, education level, or nose length?
It is very interesting to look at the adult population but you can study any involving Taylor Swift without looking at the ~12-14+ or under 18 population.
It’s not just not dataisbeautiful but utter rubbish. It’s the weakest form of data presented in a bad way.
Has anyone compared the number of teenage male Taylor Swift fans with the incidence of homosexuality among teenage males?
lol not at all surprised by that 18-34 Black Women number. Taylor is talented but her music is def more tailored to the fair skinned female variety, so their number isn’t shocking either

What’s amazing to me is that the biggest segment of her fan base is also the youngest. These are people who were toddlers, or hadn’t even been born when she released her first album.
Surely that’s is some kind of unusual statistic…? Or maybe it’s just reflective of who has time in their busy lives to follow pop music, I guess.

Her popularity leads me to think that this data should encompass ages greater than 34. Hell, Taylor herself is 35 or 36 years old (it’s convenient how her best album immediately let me know what year she was born in without having to look anything up haha).
Americans really love to divide everyone into those four ethnic groups, don’t they? Do surveys just ignore anyone who doesn’t fall into those neat categories??
