My reaction as an American seeing our Canadian and Australian friends’ elections

  1. It is good. It is a positive reaction. It is also a sign of weakening pressures from bad actors like Russia and China who seek to sow chaos and division for oligarchs to be elected and start dismantling the economic and cultural structures that make countries so much better than Russia and China.

  2. Well it is good. We don’t need what happened to us happen to others.

If I stepped in orange dog poo, I’d warn others about it.

  3. You don’t *look* happy for them.

Frankly, I’m relieved and happy the rest of the world isn’t following us. It’s bad enough that we’re lazily following the Orange Pied Piper to our own destruction.

  4. Trump is such a shitlord that he’s poisoning conservative elections across the planet.

    You love to see it.

  5. It’s nice to know hat not everyone is as dumb as we are.

  6. I wish Trump would send all the MAGA folks special kool-aid and we can be done with the whole thing.

  7. I dunno about Australia. Coalition is basically MAGA, but Labor is like 90s republicans, and both of them are so openly corrupt it makes America look…well, similar lately.

  8. This is so on point. I’m legitimately very happy for them not to be straying into the darkness like we have but we’re just at the start of this four year, dystopian prison sentence. I’ve never once have looked at North Korea and wished that’s what America could be, yet MFs are determined to give it a try here.

  9. According to MAGA cultist. Canada has voted for the country to collapse by not siding with Trump.

  10. If we did nothing for ourselves, maybe we saved others from this shit.

  11. I appreciate that you don’t see the US as the ‘best country in the world’.

The US is not perfect and it can learn from other countries. Now let’s try and get through the next 4 years!

  12. Maybe Democrats should rename themselves as the Labor Party.

  13. Voting for conservatives is how democracies commit suicide

  14. As an Australian I laughed at this, but am so sorry for you. We got your back.

  15. Gee, sensible people vote in Canada and Australia. Why can’t Americans? Make America Sensible Again.

  16. We were both going to elect Temu Trumps, until Trump actually started doing what he promised. Sorry guys, but we needed y’all to take this fall.

  17. Seriously, if we can’t save ourselves, at least our failure could be a message to other countries that it could happen to them.

  18. We looked at you the same way when your country RE-elected him.

  19. Unfortunately for my fellow Americans, we are currently the “Johnny Don’t” of politics.

Voters in other countries are seeing what right-wingers are doing in America and voting “Thank you, not for us”.

  20. Could be posted by a Brit given yesterday’s local election results.
Explanation: Trump equivalent party (Reform) did well, running on immigration… for local council elections, where immigration is not controlled.

  21. I really am happy that other countries are learning from our mistakes. I just wish we weren’t the lesson.

  22. “Friends”. Nice try yankee. Call us when you get rid of the tariffs.

  23. singapore also has an election going on right now too, but i’m not sure where the parties lie

  24. Unfortunately, I think this is the only way it could have gone. I would love to have had some other country elect a Donald Trump so we could get Harris. But do you think Americans are going to pay attention to foreign politics and learn lessons from it?

It sucks what’s happening in my country, but I am genuinely happy that it’s “helping” other countries.
