St Davids Cathedral is situated in the city of St Davids, Pembrokeshire, making it the smallest city in the UK due to its cathedral status.
It was founded in the 6th century by Saint David, the patron saint of Wales, with the current structure dating back to the 12th century, showcasing Norman architectural style.

  1. Not to get all pedantic, but St Davids is a city today because it was granted city status in 1994, having lost it in 1886 as it had no corporation to hold city status. The fact it had historically been considered a city because of the cathedral did help it regain the status, though.

That aside, it is a very good cathedral. It’s probably the only medieval one which compares to those outside Wales architecturally.
