  1. Well it’s because it’s totally different geography.

In the US larger amounts of people migrated to a large land mass they claimed (getting rid of any local inhabitants) and therefore had to built roads/trains (with slave labour) that connected those communities, with a larger starting population and built up their communities often from scratch hence with planning made it more uniform- all in 200 years. They effectively went to see what’s out there and claim it- fortune and glory etc.

Britain is smaller by land mass, and communities grew gradually and naturally over centuries, along with a slowly increasing population count. And we’re much better for it in my opinion- I know where I’d rather live…!

  2. US : designed in excel

UK : designed in word….after you moved something.

  3. It’s impressive how we all have this auto pilot when it comes to our home towns.

Wizzing around a car aligned street up a troth of a hill and round a 180degree bend up an alley way like a master of rabbit warrens.

There’s a place in my town most would think this pot holed back street , narrow hill you’d take it slow there until the connecting built up entry points but noooooooo, brands hatch rules , prayers and hope is all that that tiny inlet gets.

  4. Well yes. This is the Island of the Mighty, we need to weed out the weak, and starving to death because you drove down a road so narrow you can’t open your car doors is a key test of cunning, skill and the capacity to just fucking walk like an adult.

  5. But then they cursed those new excel towns with that most American of invention…

    THE **STROAD**

If you’ve ever wondered why American towns and cities are often so walkable compared to European ones, look no further that the cursed **STROAD**
