  1. Hopefully you’re not looking back at those declined offers in a few months.

  2. You turned 150 applications into 30 interviews and declined 15 offers!?!? Wow, there are many jealous people reading this post

  3. 30 interviews and 5 offers 👍 you’re doing something right for sure.

  4. Congrats bro. Multiple offers implied you’ve done the work to make yourself very marketable

  5. Might get deleted for relevance but… what career path would you recommend for someone who wants to do software engineering now? Especially with generative AI positioned to eliminate most junior positions…

    Just concentrate in machine learning?

  6. Share your search methodology man. How do you find these remote hiring roles, which are not only limited to the US?

  7. If architects ever want more money they should refer to themselves as Architect Architect or Architect Engineer Doctor Architect. I am a Construction Worker X Architect, CWXA. You just borrow the title of whatever status job you want and add it to your own.

  8. How did you only apply to 150 jobs in 2 months. I was averaging like 100 a week for 2 months when I got my second job.

  9. Where did you go for job postings? Would you say your requested salary was competitive?
    – 26 year old software engineer that had 4 months, 300+ applications, 0 offers… (old job took me back).

  10. If it’s this hard for Senior Software Engineer, good luck to entry level positions.

  11. That’s not too bad at all!

We’re looking for senior remote developers at my current job and they’re nigh impossible to find. We’re certainly not paying SV prices, but that’s not even the problem. We get thousands of applicants and they’re virtually all just fake, from resumes to full-on fake video interviews. It’s crazy out there these days.

Not fishing for applicants here – just saying, if somebody reading here is looking but not finding an SSWE job, consider your resume may look AI generated. We actively filter for that now, because nobody has time to do a thousand fake interviews. Recruiters with a good reputation and real-life contacts is what we’re back to.

  12. How do you even find time to attend these many interviews
