  1. Commenting to follow. We saw it this weekend and I’m also curious.

  2. Purus Chinnook, hybrid service vessel working in the North Sea. Up in Moray we see a few of these floating by to service offshore wind and oil installations.
I guess it’s there showing off its new green tech.

  3. It is a brand new ship (Purus Chinnook), got delivered about a week ago. Probably still has the new ~~car~~ ship smell.
She’s scheduled to leave at 9:45am on Friday 9th May 2025.

  4. Large vessels sometimes moor up alongside HMS Belfast. If you’re a cruise ship visiting London, it’s.basically as far up the Thames as you can go

  5. It’s probably another Russian spy ship. Genuinely wouldn’t surprise me given how shit the government(s) have been… lol?

  6. It’s common for visiting vessels to berth alongside HMS _Belfast_ when visiting London, particularly when they are involved in public relations events during their visits.

  7. Was up by the Thames earlier (Wapping, Isle of Dogs and had a Chinnook helicopter circling overhead in a couple of big swoops, wonder if there’s any connection.

  8. It’s mating season. The beautiful cycle of life continues

  9. The image shows the Purus Chinook, a new Commissioning Service Operation Vessel (CSOV) for offshore wind farms

  10. It’s come from Norway, is a new vessel and UK flagged, related to offshore wind farms. This far up the Thames, probably here for some kind of trade or corporate event for its owner. May be linked to “Great British Energy” stuff the government was announcing last week.

  11. Haha, I was trying to walk across Tower Bridge when they raised it to let this big ol boat pass. Was wondering what it was.
