Every time I talk with a pensioner from any EU country I know they are the reason for our demise

  1. Social networks and the informative bubbles they create.

Americans are the most eye opening because they are probably among the most divided among countries that actually exist.

Check /r/democrats and /r/conservative and pay special attention to the topics discussed, they essentially never discuss any topic in common.

Reds discuss red topics with other reds and blues discuss blue topics with other blues.

They essentially never cross and discuss across the aisle and this is not an accident at all, this is social networks for you. They only show you topics you already agree with in a way you already agree with.

The result is devastating : since no side is ever confronted to the same piece of information they essentially both live in a parallele reality and cannot fathom why the other side cannot see their own reality, the conclusion is therefore that the other is either stupid or traitors.

Millenials were not ready for social networks but both the pensioners and the youth were somehow even less ready than we were and it shows.

The clownfest in Romania with a random unknown guy getting catapulted to the first place overnight because of TikTok is once again not an accident at all. It was carefully engineered and it is actively fracturing us from the inside and let’s not fool ourselves : the same thing is happening in every single of our countries.

  2. just dont ask who this “largest libdem (loooooool) union of countries in the world, a beacon of morals and progress (looooooool)” has been importing on mass for the last decade

    or the runaway economic growth

  3. Typical boomer logic; “we need more migrants to pay our pensions! + it will put pressure on the real estate market and raise our home prices and rent we get!”

  4. Riiiight.

Better not talk about the masses of uneducated people with their radical extremist religious views flooding into the EU.

  5. Not unlike the hordes of students and naive youngsters also voting for clown parties

  6. Interestingly, in Germany, the AfD has the smallest share of votes among the oldest demographic of voters.

  7. In what country exactly? Usually, young people vote for extreme parties (left and right), and older generations vote for the established ones.
You can blame old people for not letting the things evolve, but not for the clowns that are appearing

  8. My parents are interestingly quite left leaning in their older years, and especially green focused, voting for serious parties. My mom had a sad realization a few years back that her grandkids life might turn out harder than her generations and it kind of shook her.

  9. Old people just vote center right or center left. They vote for the same party they have always voted for.
Its extremely hard to convince them to vote for anything else.

In about 20 years we will have both AfD and Linke in Germany both sitting on at least 30-40%.
    Will be an interesting time.

  10. We should slash the pension of every boomer who says that youth don’t know what working is anymore. Budgetary crisis avoided, where is my Nobel price for Economics?

  11. Nah.

It’s mainly the social liberals who put all of their faith in the open market after the wall fell. Blair, Merkel and that brand of politicians.

It came with that idea that the Liberal democracy would spread across the world in the last decade those ideas have perished and know the rulebased world order has collapsed and we will see what will replace it.

But it really ain’t the pensioners fault.

  12. They are so numerous that you have to please them which means that younger people are basically used to please useless inactive people.

    Some would even say parasites.

The fact in France pensions have a bigger rate than inflation it the biggest problem.

Why in the fuck if inflation goes up by 3% pension does go up by 5%?

Whe’ us active people get jack shit ?

  13. Boomers overwhelmingly voted for status quo parties

It’s the younger generations voting for right wing parties lol

  14. Both my parents (ages 54/55) and my friends (ages 21/22) voted for the convicted racist. This is not just a problem with the elderly. This is a problem with the stupid.

My dad denied climate change until it became undeniable for him. My mom still denies climate change.

My friend told me how good Putin was doing because he managed to get a ceasefire on energy in Ukraine. He didn’t know Putin broke that ceasefire almost immediately. He gets his news from TikTok and Instagram.

The stupid are the problem irregardless of age.

  15. i think you should be unable to vote as soon as your apply for your pension, these nibbas have like 10 years to live and don’t give a shit anymore

    prove me wrong (i am)

  16. At least for Germany, the retirees have more than half of the votes, so I expect them to win.

  17. That’s why they’re euthanized in “A Brave New World” when they’re getting on in age.

  18. “Old people shouldn’t vote because they won’t even live long enough for it all to affect them.”

Evil take, uttered solely by evil individuals.

“I support euthanasia for the elderly.”

    Controversial, yet morally defensible.

  19. “Ahaha imagine deciding to vote against your own interests because of a post on Facebook”

*Guy who votes against his own interests because of a meme on TikTok*
