The Turtle Back Zoo in West Orange is offering a new educational program called Wonders of the Wild for children ages 6-12.

The supplementary science and nature program aims to foster scientific literacy and lifelong environmental stewardship through engaging activities and projects.

Wonders of the Wild sessions are held in-person at the zoo’s Berson Family Center.

Each two-hour program costs $30 per child, with a maximum of 10 students per session.

The fee covers the educational program but does not include separate zoo admission.

The spring and summer lineup features a variety of animal-themed sessions. Upcoming dates and topics include:

Animal Colors on May 10.Animal Communication on June 14.Animal Tracks on July 12.Animal Training on Aug. 9.

All sessions run from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Drop-off begins at 12:50 p.m. at the Berson Family Center, with the program starting promptly at 1:00 p.m.

Pick-up time is 3:00 p.m., with a $10 late fee assessed for every 15 minutes after 1:00 p.m.
