French official says Pakistan downed Rafale jet as officials examine possible further losses

   The title and the content mentioned in the actual article seem to be at complete odds with each other, hence which one is right? Also, this same “news” was circulated and [debunked](https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/did-pakistan-shoot-down-rafale-jet-during-operation-sindoor-pib-fact-check-says-no/articleshow/120956785.cms) in a previous article.

2. The title makes it sound as if the official is a representative of the French government which is FALSE. The CNN claims to have spoken to an unnamed French intelligence officer who made the claim.

   Neither Dassault, the French Govt, IAF nor MoD of India have made any statements related to this.

   Additionally, an old picture has been surfacing again, being claimed as the fin from the wreckage of the aircraft which has been proven false.

3. India most likely lost at least one Rafale as per the footage of an M88 wreck.

   Quite embarassing honestly, losing one of your best fighter jet in the first day of a limited operation not meant to be escalatory is probably a nightmare for the Rafale’s reputation. Dassault must be fuming, but CAC is probably celebrating lmao.

5. It’s entirely possible they might have downed a rafale but I really doubt it because neither countries’ jets crossed the airspace.

   Anyway, we will know the truth in a couple of days.
