As summer begins on the west coast of Sweden, the days and evenings are awash with golden sunshine and Gan Yisroel Tzeirei Hashluchim Sweden is preparing the summer camps for young Shluchim and Shluchos from around Europe and beyond.

Over 120 campers BH, both boys and girls, attended the past summer and winter camps.

Gan Yisroel for European Tzeirei Hashluchos and Tzeirei Hashluchim in Sweden began in 5769 and 5771 and since its inception, well over a thousand campers have attended from dozens of cities around Europe, Asia and around the world, returning home glowing with a renewed chayus in their Shlichus, hiskashrus to the Rebbe and friendship.

“My children love the chasidishe atmosphere, the shiurim and Farbrengens with Rabbi and Mrs Namdar, the personal examples of what it’s like to be mekushar to the Rebbe,” says Sara Rosenblum from Belgium, a mother of campers in both the boys and girls sessions. “They always come back from camp wanting to do more in their Yiddishkeit.”

Mrs. Reizel Rosenfeld of Portugal who has been sending both sons and daughters to the camps reflects, “ Sweden is a great camp experience in a warm, chassidishe environment.”

Many Shluchim live in isolated areas around Europe, without local Jewish schools. Camp provides the chance for kids to form friendships that they will treasure throughout their lives.

This summer, beezras Hashem Chabad Sweden will hold the 48th and 49th camp sessions.

“Camp is such an important part of a Chassidishe chinuch,” says Rabbi Alexander Namdar, who directs the camp with his wife Leah.
“When you see what the kids gain, the chayus, the friendships, the positive memories in a fun atmosphere, you realize camp is not a luxury. It’s a necessity.”

“ We owe such gratitude to all the staff members we have been zoche to have since camp began in Sweden. Their devotion and caring has really been the hallmark of camp,” says Leah Namdar.
“If any of you are reading this, please take it as a personal thank you!
We also want to thank the parents for trusting us all – with Hashem’s help- with their dearest treasures. Our goal at camp is to create an environment of true chassidishe Ahavas Yisroel and bez’H to always be able to care for and uplift our campers in the way the Rebbe would want.”

The Summer camp program includes inspiring farbrengens, great learning , exciting activities, water palaces, canoeing, hikes, boat rides to the Gothenburg Archipelago, Liseberg Amusement park, trips, night activities and much, much more.

Gan Yisroel for European Tzeirei Hashluchos Sweden is a project of Chabad Sweden, directed by Rabbi Alexander and Leah Namdar, in partnership with Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky ע’ה and Rabbis Mendy and Mendel Kotlarsky of Merkos Suite 302 and MyShliach.

“If there is one message we want our campers to bring home,” says Leah Namdar “ it’s how much the Rebbe loves them.”
