Honestly? To the gallows. Got no time for noise pollution
Should be kicked out of the city permanently as well
Who checked to see if it was your neighbor or your estate? I did. It wasn’t her.
Ok? So suddenly it’s a crime to party is it? Wow.
At first glance this seems ridiculously harsh, but the article explains she broke a noise abatement notice, so she most likely has a history of being a nuisance to which I say “deserved”.
Like I couldn’t care less if my neighbours have a party once in a while, but I’d definitely say something if it was a regular occurrence and they regularly kept me up all night.
I’d love to see more of this and with stricter rules.
Love to see noise pollution taken seriously
Good. Now double it for public transport.
On the spot fine… 16k
I have a 2kW sound system that now rarely gets used, we used to have neighbours that liked sharing their music but now realised the error of their ways.
Don’t piss off an ex sound engineer. W bins are long-throw subs. Best money I’ve ever spent.
I love seeing councils baring their teeth. They need more powers, they can do so much more to make life better for local people with enough funding, cojones and jurisdiction
Why the song or artist or even the thumbnail relevant to the crime here lol
This is happening to my mum right now. She loves in social housing, and they gave her some shit mobile phone app to record the noise (which wouldn’t pick up just how bad it was). So then they sent two housing officers around – during the day time – and were like ‘no we can’t really hear it’. Consequently, after that, they wrote to her and said case closed….
I absolutely went nuts. Fortunately as I deal in contract law, I was able to construct all manner of correspondence quoting tenancy provisions, social housing provider obligations and legislation – to try and get them to see where they were at fault.
They proceeded to respond saying ‘we’ll send 2 independent community support officers around to reassess- but failed to mention anything about the time and the equipment (I immediately pointed out it has to be during the night as thats when the noise breach is- and to use priority db monitoring equipment).
So far I haven’t had a response to that, but im just shocked at how much they juat don’t seem to be giving a shit?
My mother is 70 years old and lives on her own. She has also been a tenant of there’s for 20 years in the same flat. This new tenant moved in 4 months ago and straight off the bat caused noise issues, that the landlord/social housing provider doesn’t seem to be timing seriously (they spoke to her, and warned her, but no official formal notice of tenancy breach).
I really feel for my mum…
A bit disingenuous Standard using the image of the song artist. She isn’t the one causing the noise nuisance – it was some other person. On glance it looks like the photograph of her is the person doing the noise issue.
Mate, £8K for seven hours of DJ Doomsday? That’s not a fine — that’s a poorly negotiated headline slot at Glastonbury.
But honestly, who in their right mind thinks turning the block into Ministry of Sound on a Tuesday night is a flex? There’s loud, and then there’s “we’re calling the council, the cops, and possibly MI6” loud.
Some people need therapy, not subwoofers.
So much more of this is needed. These kinds of people are scum.
Act like a dick get treated like a dick, easy way to live your life…. Don’t be a dick
This may seem pedantic because it is, but it’s North West London not North London. You’d think journalists based in London or writing for London based outlets would know this. Don’t know why they have this obsession with calling everything North London when it’s not. It’s far closer to West than North. It really grinds my gears.
That’s an expensive pair of headphones.
Having had five years of hell living underneath a young woman who did this and a *lot* more, I’d double the fine and send her down just to teach her a lesson that the world doesn’t revolve around her.
I wish there were more serious consequences like a charge added to the house or something.
People like this don’t care how their behaviour effects other people.
