  1. After the strikes from last night by Pakistan, and absolute domination from Pakistan Air Force especially with Indians loosing multiple jets, it was obvious that Indians realized they can’t escalate without taking massive damage and more Rafale’s shot down, so its best to take as a victory and agree to ceasefire because the Indian Government can spin this anyway they like, because the Indian public believes anything the Government tells them.

So its good that there is a ceasefire. Basically India didn’t achieve anything, just less airplanes in its inventory.

  2. India in a protracted war will sink his economy even further.

  3. It’s been an hour or so, and OSINT sources are saying that shelling has resumed, so the “ceasefire” hasn’t held. Maybe it’s just a pause.

Personally, I had a feeling that it wouldn’t really hold, so if it’s true, my gut feeling is validated

  4. Because Trump wants to parrot the “we shouldn’t be wasting our time and money being a global diplomatic and security force” line. He likes it because it appeals to the “why should I spend money or effort on anyone except myself” side of him. On the other hand, nothing he loves more than being the big man on campus and talking credit for everything. The man is sharing AI generated pictures of himself as Pope. He’d love to be president of the entire world if he could. If there’s a world event, he wants to be involved, and he wants to be seen as the powerful party. His decisions are motivated by whatever avarice or insecurity strikes him at the moment.

  5. Bullshit. The Pakistan DGMO (Director General of Military Operations) called his Indian counterpart and said they’d stop firing at 5p local time.

The Indus Water Treaty still remains in abeyance, India has modified its stance to say any terrorist attack will be constituted as an act of war

The only thing Trump can claim as his is the provision of the IMF loan subject to Pakistan agreeing on the ceasefire.

  6. He really desperate for a Nobel peace prize, it why he didnt like Abiy Ahmed so much he irresponsibly told the Egyptians it ok to blow up the GERD.

That’s not to say that Abiy Ahmed a really weak leader for Ethiopia and conditions worsened , just Trump ego over Nobel peace prize literally caused him to dislike someone.

  7. It’s pretty obvious the US gains nothing from escalation and both Pakistan and India wanted to back out??

  8. Claiming credit costs nothing and requires nothing to be done

  9. He had nothing to do with the ceasefire. He just wants to insert himself into the topic as he wants a Nobel Peace Prize.

  10. I believe after operation Bunyan was announced, there was a concern from all sides. Probably US also wanted this over with. Trump of course saw an opportunity to claim this for himself.

But as of now the ceasefire has been violated

  11. He saw something about it on TV and wanted to be involved like a big boy?

  12. >Days before, US vice president JD Vance commented on the escalating India-Pakistan conflict in a Fox News interview. When asked about the situation, he said, “That’s fundamentally none of our business.”

Vance *still* hasn’t learned to avoid saying anything specific ever. Because when he does, Trump will then likely proceed to do the exact opposite and expose him for a fool.

  13. Trump really wants to act the part of a “dealmaker” no matter what the content of the deal really is.

  14. My guess is that his Qatari donors called in some favors as their terrorists buddies Pakistan was getting pounded by Indian bombardment.
The Pakistani didn’t even wait for a hour before it started droning multiple cities inside India.

  15. He is trying to take credit for what he thought was a peace deal, seeing as he looks like a fool for all the other peace deals he claimed he would make. Now this one has already gone to shit anyway

  16. Sure, like the deal he was negotiating with China. When reported talked to China, they didn’t know what the hell Trump was talking about.

Trump is the least reliable source imaginable. Any reporter hearing that he negotiated a ceasefire should ask direct follow up questions that they can confirm or disconfirm. Who did he speak with? What role did the US play? What time were the calls? Can we see those call records?

  17. He didn’t intervene. The state department helped mediate a truce. Trump just watched cable TV as usual.

  18. Trump has an overwhelming sense, a need, to somehow make everything about himself. Which leads him to inject himself into whatever situation he can and try to look good.
