  22. Universal Healthcare is a dirty word to the GOP. If they lose their control over the healthcare of the poor, the disabled, and the elderly their lives won’t have as much joy or purpose. In countries that have universal healthcare people decide what job they want to pursue, where, for how long, and for what income. It serves to promote more opportunity for small businesses and artists. Imagine if you didn’t have to keep working at a job you hate just because you need the health insurance your job provides or that pays you enough to purchase it on the market. Imagine starting your dream business and not worrying about losing it all over a medical condition that bankrupts you. I know this is never going to change. I’ve advised my children to move to a better place.
