  1. I was caught at waterloo. Sirens and emergency warnings going off with metal doors shut to the underground. Pretty scary without knowing what was going on.

There’s been quite a few power issues of late – Spain, Heathrow, Manchester Airport, Stansted Airport, London Underground….

  2. The ones trapped underground will now become crab people.

  3. I was on the Bakerloo line, we stopped in the tunnel. It was so hot!! We then drove to the next station, Piccadilly Circus, but the doors didn’t work. Been stuck for 45 minutes. 😭

  4. We used to keep a stack of fifty p’s on the meter to prevent things like this!

  5. Remember these events the next time a crew of old biddies gets an infrastructure project crushed in planning.

Most of our infrastructure is literally victorian and if we don’t replace it we’re doomed.

  6. Was stuck at Tottenham Hale for 30 minutes due to fire on track. Decided to go to Highbury and Islington for Overground and now this.

The infrastructure of this country is a joke.

  7. I got on Central at Chancery Lane, and it turned into an express train going through all of the stations I didn’t need without stopping. 5 stars.

  8. Nevertheless, let’s spend billions automating the tube and removing staff from tube trains

  9. Was a fun commute. Lights flickered at Green Park as I was waiting for the Jubilee line, next thing all the departure boards went down and the escalators weren’t working.

Then went to the Victoria Line, went to get off at Oxford Circus and instead sailed through without stoppung. Got off at Warren St to catch the Northern Line instead only for that to fail as well. Gave up and went home.

  10. All these power outages are getting a little suspicious, no?

  11. So glad I rode a bike today.

I’m power only went out for literally 2 seconds, it’s crazy how much impact it’s having.

  12. Just got off the Met line with my very fussy baby, really lucky we missed that!

  13. Yet another power outage in the UK. The Heathrow outage still has no “visible cause”, is this an attack on our country?

  14. Got the message overground wasn’t working the moment I stepped into the station. Got caught in THE WORST rainstorm in a while. It felt like London stopped for good 10 minutes.

  15. Fucking hell, will have been ahead of this by minutes. Got to Heathrow on the Elizabeth line at 245 today. Could have missed my flight if I got the tube a few mins later, it seems.

  16. Damn hope everyone plus the staff working on the issue are all ok!

  17. I thought that this will happen one day this is why I always bring a water bottle with me on the underground

  18. I was walking towards Wembley Park to catch the Jubilee line home. Looking up at the dark gathering clouds I was thinking that things couldn’t get worse if it rained…

I had no idea of the outage until I jumped onto the train and it stopped halfway towards Stanmore. To make matters worse, there were a few wasps in the carriage causing a ruckus with the passengers!

  19. Was packed on the Victoria line from Green Park to Kings Cross – worse than I have ever seen. Makes sense now (was at 5:30 ish).

  20. I left London about 5 hours ago to get my train back home, glad I decided to catch it early!

  21. The overground (Weaver) is also completely shafted. I’m now embarking on the second leg of my commute which should take 25 minutes with expected journey time of an hour…

  22. Man I dodged a massive bullet, I left about 30 minutes before all this happened. It must have sucked for those who were stuck or delayed.

  23. How I feel knowing it was a Russian sabotage but there’s no way to prove it

  24. Did anyone experience a power outage in their office around the same time the tube shut? At around 2 the power went off for about a second in my office and then a colleague came back from lunch and said the same thing happened at the restaurant he was in.

  25. The barriers at South Kensington were turned off so free travel!

  26. This happened to me a few years back on the Victoria line and I wanted to cry (was close to missing a train at Euston)
