Just stop going to dictatorships and you stand a much lower chance of being arrested if you’re minding your own business
Break local laws? Face local punishments.
Follow the rules of the country your in, simple innit.

Seriously, yes the local laws might be ridiculous and oppressive. That’s why you **don’t** go there.
Every time I see some twat bragging about their holiday trips to Dubai I wince. Willfully oblivious, and the first to be demanding pity if they run afoul of the abhorrent laws.
Don’t read the headline – read the article – he has ties with someone that the Saudi government deems a threat.
He was arrested due to his connections and they used social media as a scapegoat.
Why would anyone go there?
“jailed over tweet” is always a bad faith representation when the content of the tweet is not stated.
It would be like claiming Shipman was “jailed for providing pain relief”.
