In its latest poll among former and current Archways participants, three out of four said they stayed at McDonald’s longer because of the programme. Among the benefits they cited were:

Created more economic opportunities for them (80%)
Helped them get a promotion more quickly (64%)
Created new job opportunities for them (72%)
Helped them pursue careers in new fields or industries (75%)

According to the poll, 46% of Archways participants who earned a college degree were also first-generation college students.

“I’m so proud of McDonald’s franchisees for investing in restaurant crew, the success of our Archways to Opportunity programme and our unrelenting focus on creating opportunities for everyone to succeed because that’s when the Golden Arches truly shine the brightest,” said McDonald’s USA CEO Joe Erlinger in a statement on LinkedIn.

Connecting with Labour Secretary

Erlinger was also present to announce the company’s biggest hiring push at a local McDonald’s in Columbus, Ohio, where he met with US Labour Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer.

“The Secretary and I are each committed to creating opportunity for the American workforce, opportunities that build momentum in the job market, and upskill individuals to achieve their full potential,” Erlinger said.
