What name would you give to each region of England, instead of the generic directional names we have now (South East, South West etc)?

Northeast – Forestlands
Northwest – Lakelands
Yorkshire and The Humber – Moorlands
West Midlands – Westhills
East Midlands – Lowlands
East of England – Flatlands
London – Capital
South East – Southills
South West – West Coast
Something based on history like:
North East- Bernicia.
North West- Rheged.
West Midlands- West Mercia.
East Midlands- East Mercia or The Boroughs.
South West- Wessex.
East of England- East Anglia.
It’s not perfect but there’s at least some historical basis for the names.
North west – Greater Lancashire
North east – Northumbria
Idgaf about the southern regions
I don’t mind who calls which what, but no one tell anyone that Lincolnshire is the new Cornwall/Devon….
So beautiful and amazing.
(It’s in the East Midlands bit but over to the right.)
I think ‘Mercia’ would be a good name for it because also Shropshire is similarly fantastic and no one knows it’s there.

So join up all the midlands and call it ‘Mercia’.
Yorkshire
Not Yorkshire
Wessex for the South West again please
I’d label each region like it like was a pie; the South is the ‘soggy bottom’, the Midlands is the ‘filling in the middle’ and the North is the ‘upper crust’. London is ‘that unexpected bit of gristle’.
North East- Mini Scottish Lowlands
North West- Ireland Central
Yorkshire- Wannabe Vikingland
East of England- West Holland
South East- North Fr*nce
South West- North Brittany
Midlands- The Official Demilitarised Zone of England
I’m shocked this hasn’t appeared yet, but West Country instead of the South West.
The North (north)
Not the North (everywhere else)
What’s the source of this map? Would like to read all the names properly
North East- The North.
Yorkshire- Riverlands.
North West- The Vale.
London- Crownlands.
South East- Lannister.
Midlands- The Reach.
East Anglia- Stormlands.
South West- Dorne.
I’d leave the regions as they are, however the ex metropolitan county and Birmingham/Solihull/Black Country conurbation of West Midlands could definitely do with new names…
Southwest England – Wessex (and Cornwall)
Southeast England – Kent and Sussex
East of England – East Anglia
East Midlands – East Mercia
West Midlands – West Mercia
Yorkshire and the Humber – (no need for change)
Northwest England – Rheged
Northeast England – Northumbria
Greater London – (same)
EDIT: I thought Essex was in the southeast for some reason. Having a weird morning (Japan time)
North West: Rheged and Mersey
North East + Yorkshire: Northumbria
West Midlands: West Mercia
East Midlands: East Mercia
East of England: East Anglia
London: London
South East: Weald
South West: Wessex and Cornwall
I’d create a new region called Anglia-Thames out of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, and Northamptonshire
NW- Beatland
NE- New Jordan
Yorkshire- Puddingistan
WM- Brummingham
EM- Robinhood SSR
SW- Budget Spain
SE- Poshia
EOE- Kermit’s house
London- favourite child
The Republic of Scotland to the current border, The Republic of Northumberland, down to the majority of people who want to join the free people of the North and then whatever the South wants to do with their idiot King, they can be called that. The Republic of Ireland will obviously be the whole of Ireland.
The West Country, Northumberland, East Anglia and Essex, Big Lancashire, Yorkshire and some random inbreds, Mercia, Lesser Mercia, The Leech, and Posh Twats
You know which one each of these is immediately
Freezing, Fucking freezing, Siberia roleplay, absolutely wankered
I can barely distinguish East Midlands from South England
Where is this map from?
