I think that’s Russia’s trick: it sells war to its uneducated citizens as an action film and action game ….. cool weapons, cool stunts, cool fights with friends and earning money on the side, tinkering with cars in between; it’ll be fun. But they only realise that THAT is the reality, not fun, deadly serious, when they are on the front line, or are hit, or, as here, lie half dead in the ditch and think to themselves that it always works so easily in the games and works right away.
