I think my Mum gave up on Corrie about a year ago…
I gave up on Emmerdale after Robert left, lol., the writing and character development just took a nose-dive. My nan just has it on for background noise while she knits at this point, which is a shame because we both liked watching it together when I was round for the weekends.
Lived in Spain for a long time and there was a pretty popular Irish pub near my place that had a SkyTV rig with a feed from England.
It was used mostly to get football matches, but there was a fairly large contingent who religiously showed up to watch *Eastenders* every night. And not talking just older women, it was incredibly diverse.
It baffled me how popular the show was and how diverse the people who liked it were.
