I believe the emergency situation was called an “S-400”
Repelling an enemy air attack then a sudden emergency? My Guess is he crashed against a drone, maybe?
If you have to work on a target with guns, debris will be unavoidable. In the night it might be almost impossible to see it either.
If the pilot still steered the plane away from the town, it likely means the plane had hit debris and had multiple systems’ failures as a consequence
The pilot is more important than the plane.
Hopefully not friendly fire and the pilot ok. Losses is part of war.
