Surely even Donald Trump now has to admit that Putin isn’t serious about peace. We have to force Putin to come to the table, by seizing frozen Russian assets to help defend Ukraine.

1. Why would Putin waste time on these negotiations? Ukraine is not ready to give Russia what Russia wants, so peace will not be achieved. What is there to talk about? What is Ukraine willing to give to get peace? Nothing? Nothing is not good enough.

2. That’s a joke right? Trump literally said that he understands Putin wouldn’t come because he himself is not not coming. Trump is a narcissistic shitshow only thinking about himself.

3. Ukraine needs overwhelming ability to cripple Russia – send massive amounts of long range weapons like Taurus – swamp anything of value inside Russia. Bring those dirty Ivans to their knees.

4. Russian take on negotation is that it is for losers. I am not talking about losers in the way Trump would use it, but losers in the actual sense of the word. If you are winning, you don´t need negotiations. Russian culture is very much leaning on dominance and dominating others. Putin attending negotiations is an incredibly big sign of weakness towards his followers. It will be political suicide.

   That being said, no one in their right mind was reasonably expecting Putin to show up there. And to entertain the thought that Putin is serious about peace is just naive. Asking yourself if Trump finally sees it is similarly naive. Not because Trump is not intelligent enough, but because Trump knows very well that Putin never cared about peace, never cared about his country or the ones he is invading. The idea that Trump is oblivious to this fact, and that he just needs someone to finally convince him of this, and then things will be different is similarly naive.

   Trump doesn´t care, Putin doesn´t care. They don´t play life following ideals, they are not out there to do what is right, they only do what is good for them and those closest around them.

5. I’m sure he’d admit it privately to his inner circle… but in public he will say what ever he’s told to say by Putin.

6. Trump doesn’t care about Ukraine, he cares about himself and only himself. People and especially media and politicians have to stop being idiots and start doing more for Ukraine. The US isn’t a partner, the US under Trump is an enemy of democracy, of Nato, of Ukraine and of a free world.

The only intention by Putin and Trump with these negotiations was to drive the public narrative by making Ukraine look like the difficult party to negotiate with and divert focus away from the ultimatum set up by the European countries. However Zelenskyi called their bluff so they both backed away. Now the so called ”coalition of the willing” should do what they threatened to do, impose harsh sanctions and give Ukraine those ”devastating weapons” they were advertising.

9. The west needs to take the gloves off and implement sanctions that profoundly and severely impact the Russian people. This is the only thing that may bring Putin to the table.

10. In my personal opinion, not only should the USA continue to aid Ukraine with military aid, but maybe place some submarines or missile destroyers in the Black Sea or surrounding area and place tomahawk missiles at key Russian positions.

11. Trump is moron who plays for Russia, and will find another excuse to blame Zelensky about this and stall all promised sanctions as he has done 4 times all ready.

12. You’d think so, but he won’t. He will never critiicise Putler under any circumstances.

13. Putin is a thug, you have to hurt him more than he hurts you before negotiations start.

14. Trump doesn’t know anything about anything. He’s still a game show host. He doesn’t believe anything either. He’s a vacuum.
