The group will be representing their country in the final of this year’s competition which takes place in the Swiss city of Basel on Saturday night.
Tautumeitas were selected to be Latviaās act after winning the annual Supernova competition. They qualified for the final in Thursday night’s semi-final.
The group is made up of Asnate RancÄne (vocals, violin), AurÄlija RancÄne (vocals, drums), Laura LÄ«cÄ«te (vocals, violin), GabriÄla ZvaigznÄ«te (vocals), Annemarija Moiseja (vocals, melodica, percussion) and Kate SliÅ”Äne (vocals, mandolin, clarinet).
With a ātautumeitaā representing beauty, feminine power and cultural pride in Latvian culture, the group seeks to embody these qualities with their music.
Becoming a huge force in the Latvian music scene, Tautumeitas gained widespread recognition for their unique sound.
Their latest album, SkrejceļŔ saw them perform at Glastonbury in the UK, Eurosonic in the Netherlands and Franceās Festival Du Bout du Monde (France).
Looking to make their live shows immersive experiences for those in attendance, Tautumeitas channel ancestral chants while weaving traditional Latvian folklore to showcase their background in ethnomusicology.
The group will be singing the song Bur Man Lami (A Chant For Happiness), the entry written entirely in Latvian to represent the country since 2004.

Latvia are heading into the event as one of the underdogs, with their odds of winning 200/1 ahead of the show, according to bookies Ladbrokes. The Eurovision Song Contest 2025 final takes place on Saturday, May 17.
It will be broadcast live on BBC One and BBC iPlayer with Graham Norton hosting and commentating for UK viewers. On BBC Radio 2 and BBC Sounds, Scott Mills and Rylan will be leading the commentary. Coverage across the BBC will start at 8pm.
