  4. In my local council, one of them has refused to do a “woke” DBS check, and loads of others didn’t realise they’d have to give at least 20 hours a week to council duties. Chancing numpties.

  5. Do a wide background check and 40 to 60 percent of these new Reform people will be out. These are the scoundrels of British society refusing to acknowledge that they made bad choices or that the billionaires are sucking us dry. Instead they blame the weakest people, trying to find a better life after war and famine which their own government supported.

    Immigration is indeed too high but Reform is going to do zilch about it and even if they do, it will just collapse the financial system.

  6. Most are single issue (immigration, natch), bee in the bonnet merchants. They are utterly inexperienced and that is because they are utterly uninterested, in their local communities. Most have never served even on parish councils. Hence, they know jack shit. And too lazy to do the bare minimum even after being elected. They didn’t expect to win, of course.

  7. This has been my stance since day 1:

    I am glad they are getting all the spotlight this early on. Their voter base is going to be fed up with them before they can even start an election campaign

  8. I don’t want reform about… but there need to be things in place to stop this kinda stuff.

    Something like contractual obligations if you’re running for council, or a fee when you waste taxpayers money on re-elections.

  14. The Reform bloke here was a well known FB troll in our area. He was voted in on that basis (wtf). Hope he’s suffering now.

  15. Would be amazing if Reform lost control of all their councils via resignations.

  17. I like how we’re supposed to feel sorry for the “level of abuse” he experienced after stating our navy should gun down innocent people and leave them to drown. Poor cherub.

  21. Not a reform voter but the glee and mental gymnastics are astounding. 

    5 or 6 resignations out of 677 seats gained after the record-breaking fragmentation of the vote. 

    Don’t spend yourself too soon 20 resigned from labour over the direction of Starmer leadership in January. 

    They are also likely to see a raft of councillor and possible MP resignations if they enact the disability cuts with 13 already resigning in March when it was floated. One was a 41 year party member.

    One MP had to resign because he punched a constituent in the face. One front bencher was forced to resign due to her familial links to a despotic dictatorship and another has a conscience and can see the party for who they currently are.
