Great American Family actress Candace Cameron Bure has been teasing her fans with photos and videos from the set of her new Christmas movie, but she hasn’t yet revealed what it is or who her co-star is.
Instead, she wants to see if her fans can figure it out.
In a series of Instagram stories, the Fuller House star talked about how Great American Family has already revealed her first Christmas movie of the year, the one in which she co-stars with her daughter, Natasha Bure, 26.
“We did have the announcement that Timeless Tidings of Joy is coming out, that’s a Christmas movie that co-stars Natasha and Paul Greene. I can’t wait for you guys to see it. I love it, it’s a really special story,” said Cameron Bure.
But she went on to tease her second Christmas movie of the year and challenge her fans to try to figure out what it is.
“Day two of the second Christmas movie of the year. I’m filming the second Christmas movie, and some of you guys know what it is because we did already announce it, but you have to be a real Great American Family viewer to know.
“Anyway, there’s more to come. I’m actually waiting for my co-star to get here. He’s still not here because he’s filming another show right now, so we’re doing a few days of filming without him. You know who it is, right? Tell me. Tell me. If you know, tell me,” teased the Great American Family Chief Creative Officer.
Guess what, fans? We think we have figured out the movie title and the co-star, but if you’d like to play detective yourself, stop reading. Spoilers ahead if you want to solve the mystery on your own.
We think the film is a sequel to Home Sweet Christmas, and that Cameron Bure’s co-star is none other than Cameron Mathison.
“Cam and I are back together again! … We’re gonna do a sequel to our Christmas movie that just aired last year,” Cameron Bure announced in a Facebook video alongside Mathison and Great American Family President and CEO Bill Abbott. They made the announcement back in February — did you remember?
“We’re gonna do another Christmas movie together again!…when we worked together, there was an instant dynamic we had that was very comfortable and trusting,” said Mathison in the video. “I think there was a great connection. We’ve known each other a long time, but you never know…you hope so badly that people at home are going to enjoy it and connect with it, and you want them to, and when they do, it makes you so happy.”
The first Home Sweet Christmas starred Cameron Bure as attorney Sophie Marlow, who has to return home to Washington state after her great-uncle’s death. Uncle Henry left Marlow a joint ownership in his Marlow Maple Meadows, but he also left partial ownership to Sophie’s childhood friend, Sam (Mathison).
“The legacy property means a quick sale is likely, though Sophie and Sam will discover neither of them is ready to let go just yet,” reads the description of the film. There is no word yet as to what the exact plot to the sequel will be, but it’s sure to be heartfelt and full of Christmas cheer.
