Trump says would be ‘stupid’ to reject Qatari Air Force One gift • FRANCE 24 English

This $400 million jumbo jet, affectionately known as the Flying Palace would likely be the most expensive gift the US government has ever received. And for President Donald Trump, it’s a no-brainer. Uh, I think that was a very nice gesture. Now, I could be a stupid person and say, “Oh, no, we don’t want a free plane. We give free things out. We’ll take one, too.” But the generous benefactor is Qatar’s royal family, raising the question, what does the Gulf state get in return? Nothing says America first like Air Force One brought to you by Qatar. It’s not just bribery. It’s premium foreign influence with extra leg room. Traveling on the current Air Force One, two planes dating from 1990 is apparently wearing on the president. You know, we’re very disappointed that it’s taken Boeing so long to build a new Air Force One. You know, we have an Air Force One that’s 40 years old. And if you take a look at that compared to the new plane of the equivalent, you know, stature at the time, it’s not even the same ball game. Qatar’s plane would reportedly be donated to Donald Trump’s presidential library at the end of his term in office, at which point he allegedly intends to co-opt it for private use. But the US president has rejected any ethical concerns and called the Democrats worldclass losers for criticizing the deal. However, they are not the only ones raising objections. Qatar are considered an unsavory ally by people across the political spectrum. One far-right ally of the president, Laura Luma, said he should not take the plane and that the Qataris are jihadists in suits. The news comes just days before Donald Trump is expected in Qatar as part of his Middle Eastern tour.

US President Donald Trump on Monday furiously rejected ethics concerns over his plans to receive a jet from Qatar to be used as Air Force One, saying it would be “stupid” not to accept such a gift. “It’s a great gesture,” the 78-year-old billionaire told reporters at the White House when asked if the oil-rich Gulf state would expect anything in exchange.     Go to the industrial area of Doha and see the hovels they live in.
    Don't tell me these people do anything from the goodness of their hearts.

  14. Boeing said it would take them 10 years to build 2 and meet the specifications.
    So makes sense to use the 747-8i that's being used by a other head of state. Boeing only made 17 models and none is for sale right now

  16. It's a foreign secret service's dream to get a foreign dignitary fly in their plane and discuss secrets on it.
