Eurovision if the UK sent a Welsh Male Voice choir.

  1. Was literally telling family that we’d ace it with a Welsh choir. Chuck on Sosban Fach and see those votes coming in.

  2. If we’re going to send a Welsh act I’d rather we do it as Wales instead of the UK doing it for us!

  3. 1. That would be belting, and for once the UK would be submitting singers.
    2. The competition is political, but it’s all good because no-one dislikes the Welsh.
    3. The UK judging panel would also have to be Welsh, because fair’s fair, meaning we could vote for other nations with good singers, and not just those countries who have bought the most weapons from us.

… the only downside is that when we win, which we clearly would, it might be a bit of a squeeze trying to host next year’s finals in a Valleys Working Men’s club.

  4. Nah, keep the MVC away from that bread-and-circuses slop. They deserve better

  5. We came 2nd in the Eurovision Choir competition in 2017 (behind Slovenia) and twice at Eurovision Junior

    However….this statement from the EBU:

*“Participation in the Eurovision Song Contest, and other Eurovision live events, is limited to public broadcasters which are members of the European Broadcasting Union. While S4C in Wales is a valued member of the EBU and has taken part twice in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest and once in Eurovision Choir, the BBC has taken part in the Eurovision Song Contest since 1957 and represents the whole of the United Kingdom at the event. As the BBC continues to participate, and remains the rights holder in the United Kingdom, this means an entry from the individual nations of the UK is therefore not possible at the Eurovision Song Contest.”*

So, it is the BBC or nothing.

  6. We need a Welsh Choir singing ‘Oes Gafr Eto?’ and we would absolutely win!

  7. As an English-Welsh Eurovision fan, I’d love it if we competed as four nations.

    • The chance that one of the 4 send a strong song to get behind is high

    • More Welsh/Scots language

    • More UK music variety (BBC continuously send generic pop)

    • Get a little voting block going 🤫

    • Higher chance of Eurovision coming to these isles

The only downside is I don’t like the English flag as much as the UK flag.

  8. but yeahs ive been saying this for years

we need a song in Cymraeg… it would do so well

    (esp for other countries)

its also a besuitifull laungue to sing in–> i cant ait to be more fluent so i can sing the songs better

  9. “Et, pour la quatorzième année, le gagneur de l’Eurovision c’est le Côr Meibion Pontarddulais de la Royaume Uni avec “Gwahoddiad”. Très bien, les gars, et vas-y pour votre encore:”
    * wild applause from the entire continent and Australia and Israel *
    * cue 120 elderly men in sequin-covered blazers and club ties shuffling onto the stage *

  10. It would be amazing. It would have to be a small choir though – limited to 6 participants on stage. Latvia had a 6 woman group singing in harmonies this year which was beautiful and did fantastically well.

  11. I’ve been saying for years that an a cappella Welsh choir would do gangbusters at Eurovision.

  12. I never understand why we always send the most boring bland generic pop crap every single year. We get a guaranteed place in the final, send a Welsh choir! Send a bagpipe group! Send a Morris dancing troupe! Literally we could send someone farting God Save The King and they have to let us into the final!
