Was at the penthouse suite in the europa for a work conference at the weekend.

Nice view from the 12th floor.

  1. It seems like it was designed by a blind man who also didnt take advice. Our planning system over the last few years has so much to answer for.

  2. Makes me wonder what the operators on top of those cranes can see from up there

  3. I think it looks good (would be much better without that big brick building to the left though)

  4. Well may I ask what you expected to see out of a Belfast hotel bedroom window?
    Sydney Opera House perhaps?
    The Hanging Gardens of Babylon?
Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically across the plain.

  5. Am I right in saying that there is some law/legislation that says no building in the centre of Belfast can be taller than city hall? I remember someone telling something like this years ago.

  6. You can see Samson & Goliath from the Mourne’s on a nice day. Makes you realise just how tall they are.

  7. Remember the “big” wheel when it was in Belfast? Beside City Hall? I always thought that was hilarious. It was maybe 5 meters higher than the buildings next to it. So for your £20 (or whatever) you got to spend 10 minutes looking at the side of a building, then maybe a minute or two looking eye to eye with the pigeons perched on top of it.

  8. The real problem is that, when you get up there, all you see is Belfast

  9. Never understood why them two big fucking yellow cranes are used to represent Belfast and, to a certain degree, Northern Ireland.

    Hideous depressing looking monstrosities
