  1. >In a recent interview, Qatar-based Hamas senior official **Sami Abu Zuhri remarked that the number of births in Gaza — around 50,000 — exceeds the number of war casualties**, which he claimed demonstrates that the losses do not reflect the broader picture of the conflict.

    >He added, “The martyrs [killed in the war] — the wombs of Gaza’s women will give birth to twice as many. This is the price that must be paid. If we thought in material terms, we would not be able to hold onto our land.”

Another interesting interview showing the way Hamas is thinking, and also an admission from an official about how more Gazans were born during this war they declared than the amount that died (Which makes it hilarious so many robots repeat the “Genocide” accusation).

This approach reminds of Sinwar’s statement from a while ago before he was eliminated, about Gaza’s civilian casualties being a tactical advantage: https://www.ynetnews.com/article/bja61pt3t

  2. As an outsider looking in, there doesn’t seem to be any light at the end of the tunnel. Israel cannot destroy Hamas in the same way the United States was unable to rupture the Taliban in Afghanistan over the course of 20 years. Jihadist movements are fueled by martyrdom and a deep-seated animosity toward the ‘other.’ I’m currently reading Scott Atran’s book *Talking to the Enemy*, and it really paints a vivid picture of the phenomenon.

  3. Both sides-ism gets a bad rap. But in this situation, there really are truly vile people on both sides of the conflict

  4. Anyone in Gaza who supports Hamas needs to see this and disassociate
