Expert says fruit shipments likely for elite, as China outsources production of wigs, watches and clothes
North Korean imports of food products like oil and sugar led its bilateral trade with China in April, new customs data shows, while shipments of raw textile materials continued to enter the country as part of a likely sanctioned outsourcing scheme.
The total value of DPRK food imports last month came to $31.5 million worth, according to official data from China’s General Administration of Customs (GAC), up $9.2 million from March.
