King Charles will once again be joined by members of the Royal Family at the Balmoral Estate this summer – an annual tradition that the late Queen Elizabeth II also previously upheld. The family typically use the time to enjoy the estate’s scenic beauty and the privacy it has to offer.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have reportedly been left upset on previous occasions after having not received an invitation to join the family at the estate in recent years, with the couple now residing in the US with their two children – Prince Archie, six, and three-year-old Princess Lilibet.
Page Six previously reported that, despite their hurt, Meghan and Harry were “not surprised” to have been snubbed from the gathering last year.

Following their snub from last year’s gathering, a source told Closer: “It doesn’t exactly shock Harry and Meghan that they’re not invited considering they’re not even on speaking terms at this point, but it feels very much like a personal attack designed to hurt and embarrass them.
“It’s not just about pride or hurt feelings, there are very ugly repercussions for them when this constant narrative that they’re family outcasts keeps getting fed.”
Harry, who used to travel to Balmoral each summer, has previously spoken of the Royal Family’s summer retreat.
Speaking of the estate in his 2023 bombshell Spare, Harry described it as a “paradise” and a “cross between Disney World and some sacred Druid grove”.
Harry wrote: “To me, Balmoral was always simply Paradise. A cross between Disney World and some sacred Druid grove.
“I was always too busy fishing, shooting, running up and down ‘the hill’ to notice anything off about the feng shui of the old castle,” he continued, referring to legends about the residence.
“What I’m trying to say, I was happy there. In fact, it’s possible that I was never happier than that one golden summer day at Balmoral: August 30, 1997,” Harry wrote, referring to the day before his mother’s tragic death.
