  1. So pleased that this is getting such traction. You’re a good man, Peter!

Our management agency threatened to turn the lifts off on purpose to blocks who were behind on their service charges. Lifts are a privilege for those who aren’t having financial issues, apparently. I’ve never been someone to say “I will sue you” but the words slipped out as soon as I read that threat. That and links to the relevant legislation made them rethink – for now.

“It’s about expectations” – this is so true. Tell the people in the blocks if this is their life for 2 days, 2 weeks, or more.

  2. Well done Peter. About time these crooked companies were held accountable. L&Q is another one.

  3. I bet they would appreciate knowing that the Way of Life brand is gaining notoriety around the world. [balfrontower@wayoflife.com](mailto:balfrontower@wayoflife.com)

  4. I wonder… WTF are Councils, MPs, regulators, even the effin’ government, doing?

I live in a building administered by L&Q. 7 floors. Our lift went out FIVE TIMES since February, it’s been out since late April now. Rumour has it they opened a Section 20 to change the engine of the lift and they say it’s 2 months.

    Meanwhile service charges go up.

My local councilpeople haven’t bothere replying to a single email. MP, same. Housing ombudsman only looks at rogue landlords.

    L&Q… is skating by.
