U.S. defense secretary Pete Hegseth will visit Fort Bragg on Thursday at the end of the 82nd Airborne Division’s All American Week, a week of events to honor and celebrate military members and families.

Hegseth will deliver remarks during the All American Week Review, a formal part of the closing ceremony for All-American Week.. Hegseth will also observe training and facilities at Fort Bragg, visiting the Army Special Operations Units and the John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School, according to the U.S. Department of Defense.

The All American Week tradition dates back to 1986. Festivities kicked off Monday with a 4-mile All American Run, and the entire week includes ceremonies, meals and competitions in boxing, swimming, basketball and other sports, where soldiers can test their skills.

The event is meant to give past and present paratroopers, and their families, a chance to celebrate their service and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
