Team Canada enters the quarterfinals of the 2025 IIHF World Championship on a high note after a commanding 5–3 victory over previously unbeaten Sweden.

Next up: a clash with co-hosts Denmark, with a semifinal berth at stake.

Denmark will have the home-ice advantage at the Jyske Bank Boxen in Herning.

While their preliminary round included losses to the USA, Switzerland, and Czechia, the Danes showed flashes of promise with wins over Kazakhstan, Norway, and Germany.

Canada, meanwhile, has looked strong throughout the tournament.

Led by standouts Macklin Celebrini, Nathan MacKinnon, and Sidney Crosby, they dropped just one game in the prelims—a tough loss to Finland.
