A document posted by Elon Musk’s mum shows the tech billionaire was a computer whiz at just 17 years old. Maye Musk posted a picture of a document from 1989 from the University of Pretoria in South Africa, showing that her son earned an A+ in both programming and computer operations.
She captioned the X post: ”While sorting through photos, I came across computer aptitude test results of @elonmusk at 17. My genius boy. Proud mom.” Elon Musk commented on the post, saying: “They told me I got the highest engineering aptitude score they’ve ever seen. In other words, not bad for a human, as a future AI might say.”
Today, the tech billionaire has an estimated personal fortune of more than $421 billion, according to Forbes. But Maye has previously said the family were short of cash while Elon was growing up after her divorce in 1979.
She told Fox News: “I remember Elon saying, ‘I wanted Coco Pops, but we only had Raisin Bran.’”
Even today, she says she lives in modest conditions when she visits him. She said: “You can’t have a fancy house next to a rocket site”, referring to SpaceX’s Texas complex.
But the billionaire is currently in treacherous waters and sees his position at the helm of Tesla threatened by growing investor concern.
Commenters were impressed by the tycoon’s score.
One said: “You will never see this, but I am totally in awe of you! You are a great human!”
Another even suggested he should get a Nobel prize, saying: “Elon deserves a Nobel prize. He’s literally done more for the betterment of humanity than most people who have ever existed. This is not hyperbole. We’re so lucky to have him as a citizen of the greatest nation on Earth.”
The Daily Star recently reported that Errol Musk, Elon’s father, killed intruders at one of his properties in Johannesburg and he has now said they would have murdered his daughter, then six, before boiling her head and eating her body parts
The incident happened when Errol and Ali visited a rental property in Sandton, Johannesburg in 1998 to inspect painting work. Errol had brought his 357 Magnum revolver for safety, a common precaution in Johannesburg at the time. He placed the gun on a high ledge before running a bath for his daughter.
Recalling the events that led to the shooting, Errol said: “I heard some noise up in the lounge. It was quite a big ranch style house and I went up to the lounge and in the lounge were, my memory is not entirely sure, but about seven or eight men.”
