  23. That was the worst application of a tourniquet I’ve ever seen. Poor training off equipment. Secondly, that Russkie is very lucky he only lost his foot and part of his leg. Other have had much worse injuries from the anti-personnel mines. Horrible on every level.

Junior lieutenant with blown foot, note he’s the only one with body armour and a helmet,small charge so probably one of their own butterfly mines, escorting 2 crows further up the line, bang, panic, emergency tourniquet bootlace, don’t need it, morphine, got none, not an arterial bleed but bang on the rubber band anyway because they told us that’s what to do, remove identity patch, don’t know why but that’s what they told us to do, look back at your own lines just to make sure no one is going to help and your right no one is coming to help, these men are fucked scared because their training consisted of a few hours of video like we got from lazy supply teachers back in the day, choosing running back to where they came and possibly getting shot for being cowards, try and carry Daniel day Lewis back and getting droned on the journey, moving forward to the front line without Daniel, definitely getting shot for that, stay there hoping for help before the drones appear knowing that no help is coming or just end your own suffering
