The slip in polling ratings for Labour since the 2024 general election is the worst for any government since 1983, when data from PollBase began.

  1. > The slip in polling ratings for Labour since the 2024 general election is the worst for any government since 1983, when data from PollBase begins. Labour has dropped from polling at 37.5% in July 2024 to 25.2% in March 2025 – a fall of 12.3 points in just eight months.

    > Before this, the biggest recorded drop in popularity for a new government was in 1992, when John Major’s Conservatives fell 7.7 points in 10 months.

Who can’t remember John Major’s “Back to Basics” campaign, and the ridiculously long list of scandals that followed: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Back_to_Basics_(campaign)

  2. Starmer got voted in on the premise he was not a Tory party candidate. Because that’s the electorate were voting for, no more Tory austerity, no more bare faced corruption, no more lying about immigration.

Going after disabilities in a manner that not even Osborne dared did not fill the public with confidence and that was his starting point… The public meanwhile is sick of slash and burn economics yet he told them to prepare for even more cuts. Likewise Labours PR appears to be tone deaf at best or outright counterproductive at worst.

Is it really a suprise they got caned so hard?

I said this before the election and i’ll keep saying it. If Kier want’s to be more than a one term PM he cannot be seen carrying on the Tory made status quo from the last decade.

  3. Scots need to vote Scottish conservative to help our country move on from the dividing and damaging nationalist regime.

  4. Yeah it looks like we might be having a bigger change than we’ve seen in a long time. It’s on a longer timescale than 40 years. People have just had it with the current situation. The social media effect is really kicking in now too, imo. I expect volatility will be the new normal.

  5. Tip for Starmer, actually implement the ten pledges you lied about to get elected Labour leader.

Everything else you’re trying is obviously failing and you’re about to deliver england to nigel farage on your current course so you might as well.

  6. The complex issues in this country cannot be fixed in under a year. I think we should save our evaluation to how Labour are doing once 2 years are under their belt…

  7. That’s because reform uk is the biggest political party in the UK now, most people I know will vote for them. Get used to it.

  8. Wow, the thing everyone saw coming has come. Starmer has been diet Tory and nobody likes that so he won’t get a second term and we’ll resume drowning in full-hate Tory

  9. (Corbyn voice) Any other leader and Labour would be ten points ahead.
