  1. Ukraine has been striking deep into Russian territories for years. This is just coming from him. That is the only new part. The real issue is what they are willing to provide in more sophisticated armaments, how much and how rapidly.

  2. I’m glad Germany is re-engaging in the world. Germany historically was in a bad neighborhood. It was the biggest and baddest, even when it was separate principalities. But the past 80 years have taught Germans and other Europeans that there is a better way. Ukraine being separate from Russia is an opportunity for Germany to live in peace in the future because Moscow is a historical enemy. Europe and Germany need to hold tight to democracy for the sake of peace. Encouraging a willing Ukraine toward those goals is in Europe’s interest. It’s also in the United States’ interest.

  3. Good. Wish the rest of countries aiding Ukraine also follow soon.

  4. There should never have been restrictions in the first place.

  5. 1. Russia moves troops closer to the border of a tasty looking northern European nation;
    2. Russia increases the range and intensity of attacks on Ukraine;
    3. Nations supporting Ukraine lift restrictions on how deep Ukraine can thrust rockets into Russia’s ass;
    4. Russia now has its excuse to attack the tasty northern European nation that Russia nudged NATO and European nations into giving Russia the pretext to attack.

    It’s whatever you can convince your people to believe that keeps your people on side method. Russia now shows its people ‘Look! They’re hitting us! We need to strike back. Now!’

    Well done everybody!

    Congratulations all round!

  6. Forcing Ukraine to fight with one hand tied behind its back was always an incomprehensible decision.

  7. I assume this also gives the ok for Russia to “strike deep” inside Germany. Would be interesting to see how that plays out especially with Trump in charge.

  8. NATO should just start attacking Russia within Ukraine. I don’t think Putin is maniacal enough to launch nukes in retaliation. That means his children have no future. No one would. Putin is doing what the world is allowing him to get away with.

  9. “German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has said that **Germany, France, the United Kingdom and the United States** have lifted all restrictions on Ukraine regarding the range of strikes.”

  10. Wow , people cheering for escalation towards world war 3.

  11. Shouldn’t this be a surprise?

    Our first report of this should have been shit blowing up deep inside Russia where Ukraine hasn’t been able to reach before.

    Course, strategically it might prompt Russia to reorganize their resources and reveal the good targets…

  12. Can someone explain this to me. Russia and Ukraine are at war but the rest of the world is telling Ukraine how and where they are allowed to strike?

  13. Keep in mind that today is 1188th day of war. Thank you, but what the actual fuck.

  14. Which weapons are capable of striking deep within Russia?

  15. Well, Mertz indeed said that. But.

    The targeting is done by the US personnel according to US military intelligence – and Russia already indicted that it is considering such strikes as direct (not via Ukraine as a proxy) acts of war.

    So, two options here:

    1) Mertz’s words are meaningless and there is no lifting of such restrictions from the US.

    2) Europeans somehow tricked Trump into lifting the restrictions. If option 2 is true:
    a) nothing major will happen for whatever reason and because of the unwillingness of the parties to escalate.
    b) soon Elon Musk would get another chance to comment on Russian ICBM launch.

    Anyways, safe dreams to you everybody.

  16. Meanwhile, I hope Trump and Kim Jong Un won’t lift any restrictions for Russia to strike the entire Ukrainian territory, civilians included, neither to sabotage infrastructure, assassinate opponents or lead cyber attacks on all European countries…..
