Iran ‘not ready to give up’ its nuclear enrichment, despite what Trumps says • FRANCE 24 English

Well, Allison, uh, Donald Trump is correct about having serious negotiations with Iran. But being too close to have an an agreement is uh wishful thinking I would say at at the very best because uh right now we receiving reports uh from Washington that the United States presented Iran in the fourth arm talks last week in Oman uh with a with a document uh regarding its its suggestions and its solutions reaching an agreement. Now the Iranian foreign minister said yesterday that it has not the Iranian delegation has not received a document as such but uh he did not rule out that uh during the coming days maybe the this document will be presented by the Omani foreign ministry to the Iranian delegation. So when the differences are this big and this massive I would say that reaching an is saying that we are too close to reach an agreement right now. This is visual thinking at at the very best and uh the two sides have not yet even agreed on having a fifth round of talks. So uh the latest we have is that the Iranian foreign minister said we’re ready to clarify about the nuclear program of of the Iranian uh government. We are ready to build trust, but we’re not ready to give up on our enrichment, and it is an in inalienable right. Okay, so sounds like some grandstanding optimism then from Donald Trump. Meanwhile, Iran is also holding talks with three European nations this Friday. What what can we expect to come out of those? Uh well the Iranian deputy foreign minister for political affairs Majani will be heading to Istanbul uh today to hold talks with as you said the the Europe European troa but uh right now in in Iran we’re hearing that Germany has declined to attend the meeting uh fairly because the government the German government uh is uh new uh and uh hasn’t been able to uh clarify its uh point its standing position on this matter for now. Uh the new German foreign minister said that he is looking forward to having it having talks with uh the Iranian foreign minister Abbasi over the phone but it is unclear whether Germany would attend and uh the Iranians believe that the European troa have alienated alienated themselves from these talks by uh being passive and somehow passive aggressive uh in the words of the foreign minister. On Thursday, President Donald Trump said the United States and Iran have “sort of” agreed to terms on a nuclear deal. But according to Saeed Azimi, FRANCE 24’s correspondent in Tehran, Iran has only agreed to the idea of talks with the United States but says is not ready to give up nuclear enrichment, strongly undermining hopes of an agreement.

  3. What I don't understand is, how anybody from "the West" can really check what Iran does with enrichment. The centrifuges they can control and are shown to them could possibly (probably??) not be the only enrichment units. How can they find possible 2nd or even 3rd hidden units? They could be somewhere in some mountain or under the sand. Is it possible to find such units, bases?🤔 I believe Iran has achieved the enrichment level they need for a nuklear bomb. It is just happening somewhere hidden…

  4. Let’s not forget how Iran insisted on lying about the negotiations at the beginning, claiming it to be false, and later they were forced to admit to the negotiations taking place at an agreed date. All the while the Americans were announcing and advertising on the news. This time it’s no different!
