Every customer saving 3p would VASTLY outweigh £3m.
4bn liters of milk are sold every year in the UK. 3p times 4bn is £120m. Even if Tesco only sells 10% of the UK’s milk, that’s £12m.
Do you think they don’t do the same with data linked to any non-cash payment method, even if you don’t use your clubcard?
Is it absolutely morally acceptable to steal from Tesco, Sainsbury’s, and other price-fixing, cost of living-causing companies.
£3m is low. Just wait till NHS goes and private health buys your food and drinks data. Good luck with health insurance, life insurance, credit checks, bank checks.

Selling your data sucks but the real crime with clubcards at the moment is the supermarkets realising they can can set a single sandwich at £17 and then have a “clubcard price” that’s like £3 or whatever. That’s just flatly price manipulation, that shit should be illegal.

Nothing stopping you doing DSARs and asking for your data to be removed periodically.
More people need to make data harvesting a bigger pain in the arse for companies if you ask me, especially if they tack it onto usage.
The protections are right there but I don’t think people realise A: Their data is being taken and B: That they can ask for it to be deleted.
