   First:

   – Empty threat. Germany is all bark no bite.

   Second:

   The local hasbara says the exact opposite. Facts strike yet again against Israel’s propaganda program.

3. I’ll believe it when I see it.

   Germany’s historic crimes against the Jewish people makes them reluctant to call out Israel’s ethnic cleansing and massacres.

4. The same threats as UK and France did. Followed by further intel and arms supplies. Lets be real these statements only are to distance themselves in the public and not intending to contain Israel. While backhanded it receives support.

5. Germany is the next biggest co-perpetrator of this genocide. The rhetorical (and thus symbolic) push back by Merz, yesterday, which is only meant to create plausible deniability so none of the German political elite is dragged into the genocide trial at The Hague, is already publicly countered by another member of the German government.

6. Yesterday the German Foreign Minister said Berlin will keep supplying Israel with weapons.

   Until *that* changes, any “tone shift” is completely empty. And nothing is really news until they act on their word.

   Having said that, public and legal pressure does seem to be rattling Germany for sure.

8. 10 years down the line when all the vocal enablers will be falling over themselves to decry the genocide and the complicity of institutions they propped up, Germany will still be contemplating whether they should “consider harsher measures” on Israel.

9. i am very curious to see what gymnastics liberals ,and other center left to center right people, do to support being both pro EU and pro Israel. I mean how can everything the EU say/do be true and good but also israel being in the rigth be true at the same time? Tbf liberals never had a problem with ideological inconsistency…

10. I’ll believe it when I see it. The germans (and a lot of Germans commenting on these boards) have been nothing but a disappointment regarding the genocide. It’s been almost 2 years of this and they’re only finally being coaxed into action. Guess you can’t argue with the evidence any more.

11. Germany saying that means hell is freezing over. Oh my god I never thought I would see Germany speak against Israel of all nations. It’s well-deserved, it should happen, but my lord is this massive if Germany just says something.
