I have no sympathy for russians, but it does take a lot to make a man just sit there and accept death.
Poor fuck stood no chance…
The drone operator was actually mercyful by taking the time to aim straight to the head and give him a quick death, instead of hitting him wherever and letting him there agonizing, maybe for hours.
Like bees or wasps, if you don’t move they will go away (eventually).
Imagine if he wasn’t an invader. This kind of thing would not happen then.
That’s just sad
Grim, but necessary. This is the fate that awaits all of the invading despoilers.
This war sucks.
it was not possible to take him as pow? he basically surrended
You are walking. Again. As if this was your sole purpose in life. No vehicles can travel on these roads, for they are constantly watching. Always there. They are staring in parts of the spectrum our eyes could never dream to gaze at. Yet, you obey. Obey the commands of your superior. “Water and fuel for our men at point Vostok”. Even though you’ve walked this path and many like it, before, you always forget to keep track of how far you’ve come. Constantly distracted by your fear of ending up like the others strewn along the path. Just left there, decaying in the sun, rain… The stench is so powerful, it touches your very core. You try to hold your breath as you pick up the pace for a moment to move to the next stretch of fresh air. The fresh air brings a moment of clarity. “Why are you here? Why did you go? Does the money even matter at all? ” Surviving this will likely be a life of torment as opposed to the sweet relief of death. No more carrying, no more long walks among fallen. Just…. rest.
And just like that, your body instinctively surrenders at the high-pitched buzz of a drone. You drop the water and fuel, sit down and wish for it all to stop. You know very well, just like your commanders, and the ones who walked before you, that there is nowhere to escape what’s coming. That you are worth less than the vehicle command is trying to spare, and less than the supplies you were carrying a moment ago.
What sounds as four agitated wasps, buzzing in the air is gradually becoming louder, and with it, a cool breeze is brushing over your exposed ankles. It’s close. It’s time. As you accept the inevitable, your final thought is that you wish for a swift death, so you remain still… obedient, not to your commanding officer, but to the fate you have doomed yourself to. The final thing you see is the grass and dust around you being blown across the ground, as you start getting debris in your eyes. You close your eyes a final time, as you feel the sensation of buzzing in the air, almost tickling your skin. The buzzing increases sharply and you feel like it will happen at any mome….
Trying to imagine the reality he is facing, seeing, hearing and most of all feeling really twists you inside. Bad enough to have one zip outta nowhere and splat you. But having it hover for a few secs right in front knowing a person is looking at a screen getting ready to blow you to pieces is an unusual level of mental torture. Any way. Shoulda never gone. Soooo
This is just sad. Was he surrendering and then killed?
Honestly, (and unfortunately) there aren’t many videos that affect me anymore…. This one kinda did. I understand it and don’t dispute that any occupier must be neutralized one way or another, but this was just rough
I don’t see his weapon. This war must end.
He squandered his life so completely that even his death became a financial burden… at least it was a human death
That was hard to watch. I know it’s war but I wish there was another outcome where he was a POW.
He’s not in his backyard at home after sunday church, he came to kill and occupy a peaceful neighbor and the result is what justice requires.
This is tough. He looks old. Probably was struggling financially, wanted to support his family with the big military sign on bonus. I can only imagine the thoughts going through one’s head at that moment. Do you think about life choices? Do you try and disconnect? Just try and remember your child’s face one last time? Do you pray? Quite a sad video.
Why not just surrender?
I learned a lot.
