A quick Google says TSMC is 25% of Taiwan’s GDP, which is fucking insane.
Hon Hai Precision Industries is better known as Foxconn, no?
Looks like another one of those “one hero company towering over all the rest” country, like South Korea (Samsung) and Denmark (Novo Nordisk). I think Nokia in Finland was like that too at its peak. Maybe Saudi Aramco in Saudi Arabia is another such example.
