  3. The “ban” is just performative.

    Disposable vapes will still be sold, they just make y slot the tanks in yourself now. They’re rechargeable and can have replacement tanks so they are not technically disposable. It just so happens they only sell the tanks in combination with the vape.

  5. No one is banning vapes. Just crappy disposable ones that are an environmental catastrophe anyway. Just buy a refillable one and vape to your hearts content.

  6. It’s a issue with how the product is sold and marketed – not the product. Stick them behind the desk with the cigerettes, no marketing, instant £20K fine for selling to minors, problem solved. I know many people that chuff then with a beer on a Saturday and that’s it., no other time. They won’t invest in a full on vape and will go back to a pack of cigarettes instead now. When will this country realise prohibition doesn’t work!

  10. i’ve been using the same rechargeable one for years, imagine a world where the press actually helped people and informed them of safer alternatives to going back to smoking rather than peddling this crap.

I’ve just switched to a Lost Mary Refillable which is £12 for the first kit and then £7 for the pods and tank; which is actually cheaper than a disposable as they were about £7 each and would last me a day! The pods are lasting me about 4 days at the moment so realistically it’s so much cheaper (although I should quit but that’s a problem for another day!)

  22. I was gifted a Vaporesso xros cube a few months back. Rather than fiddly replacement coils you buy replacement pods that act as a tank and coil. It’s fuss free and works out so much cheaper than the disposable ones. Charges really quickly too and it’s not a heavy, bulky pocket filler. Between £15 and £20 depending on where you buy it from, so it’s cheap and performs fantastic.

  23. Nothing will change most vape shops are now stocking the vapes you can charge and refill but it’s cheaper for them to just buy the whole units instead of stocking the refills for them.

  26. FFS we constantly get told that unless vapers are allowed to vape whenever and wherever they choose they will be driven back to smoking and it will be “our” fault.

    Go back to smoking. You are only effing up your own body. I don’t care. Plenty of vapers manage with the refillables. I suspect these stories are being driven by disposable vape companies because they are losing business.

  36. If people like me do their job correctly we’ll get them on to a re usable, rechargeable standard device. If you’re one of those people worried about the disposables ban, trust your vape shop if they tell you it will save you a lot of money to get a conventional vape.

  37. I have just been to get a replacemnt bit for my wife’s vape

    A whole “kit” was only £14 excluding the oil

    if they can;t afford that a packet of cigs is going to be a problem over a few days!

    just checks – the average price is apparently nearly £15 – so about the same plus the oil which is about £2-3 I think

    don;t really think this will drive people back to fags myself

  40. Vaping has gotten a bad rap and mostly caused by manufacturers who have honestly targeted kids. I stopped smoking and used vaping as NRT and have been 20 years smoke free. I’ve also reduced my Nic levels slowly. I just hope that NHS and Department of Health still see them as a viable Nicotine Replacement Therapy to stop smoking otherwise I’ll be truly fucked

  41. This is an excellent move. The ban will prevent huge amounts of waste and littering. The same people moaning about increasing cost of living have been wasting UK resources clearing up after them because they lack self control and have no consideration for others or the environment. Next we need to ban vaping in public because I’m sick of my children having to walk through clouds of other people’s chemicals. I tell my kids that public vapers are selfish people to be avoided as they lack awareness of others and lack self-respect.

  42. I work in a vape shop and have done for 10 years, I can tell you now, from just finishing this week’s delivery the company’s the produce disposable vapes have already found a way round the ban.

  43. Been vaping for around 8 years and switched to gum a few weeks ago. My chest has improved so much it’s actually pretty scary

  44. As an ex smoker I doubt it. The price of cigarettes is eye watering, and also I broke at around eight months and bought some, I could not finish the first one it was disgusting, made me feel sick, and gave me a headache. So glad I quit after so many years.
